Reviews
This would be my favourite Sobeys in the city. It's large, modern and bright. The one downtown is ok, but this one offers a lot more variety and is in a better location if you're planning a big box type of shopping day.
I still prefer smaller ones such as Victory, but you can't deny the variety of offerings being exciting at grocery stores such as these.
They gotta give a raise to the homie stocking the shelves... Literally walked two laps of the store admiring the way the products are shelved. Incredible job.
Plenty of food and essential products. Portions are reasonable. Price is not really competitive
As always, friendly staff. Product easy to find. I like that you don't move stuff around too much. Makes it much easier just to come in. Sometimes to pick up a few things and get on my way. High praise to you and your crew.
Expensive. But food is everywhere. What bothered me most was the unmarked security. The are too obvious. And they make shopping a horrible experience. Hard to decide what to purchase with someone watching you. Even with my father there who is getting up there, they still watched us both. What gets me most is after paying the 150 ish dollars on a few bags of food, the security continued to follow us outside and the entered vehicles. I hope I wasn't followed but they absolutely destroy any comfort of shopping. Horrible experience. Will never return.
Excellent customer service and knowledgeable which thst on it's own bumps out the competitor..
Keep up the one of a kind service
Wish this location would bring back being open until midnight, or even better 24/hours like the old prospect street location. People are there stocking anyway, it only takes hiring one cashier. Nothing in this city seems to want to be open after 10 except some fast food and gas stations.
The new, expanded location (in the space formerly occupied by Target and, before that, Zellers) is beautiful. I was a little overwhelmed! I have to say though, as impressed as I was by the fact that there's a whole gluten-free section (seriously), I was disappointed that they didn't take the opportunity to expand their international section - they have more of what they had before (Indian, Thai, Chinese, etc.) but there was no Middle Eastern food, for example. I assume it's to avoid directly competing with Scoop and Save, which is just down the street, so I won't sock them points for that!
EDIT: the aisles in the centre are noticeably narrower than in the old store, and that is not a compliment...
